Don Callis has an eye for young handsome men. That’s why his attention is on Sting’s son. Callis wants to breed him into a champion. The question was how Steven Borden would respond to that recruitment pitch.
The scene unfolded on AEW Collision (Aug. 29, 2026). TNT champion Kevin Knight had the mic to talk trash about Darby Allin prior to their Falls Count Anywhere match at All In. Allin hasn’t been seen in AEW since the pyro explosion on the ramp. Allin was stretchered out in an ambulance. Knight wondered
where Allin was.
A hooded intruder rushed into the ring to attack Knight. The Callis Family goons were quick to corral that man and reveal him to be… It’s Sting Jr.! That’s when Callis went into his sales pitch.
The Callis Family isn’t just a family. It is a star factory. Callis thinks Borden has the athletic ability to be better than his father. But, that won’t happen taking advice from that little puke Allin. Callis flipped the script to accuse Borden of being interested in joining the Callis Family. Why else would Borden be out here? Surely, it wasn’t to get his ass beat by the Callis Family.
Borden grabbed the mic to express a message from Allin. Allin will be at All In, and he will take the TNT title from Knight. The Jet didn’t like those words, so he socked Borden.
AEW is easing Borden on screen. This was his first piece of mic time, and he added some physicality. There are things to work on, like projecting his voice better when speaking. The cadence and attitude were good though for his role.
