Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has reportedly been prosecuted in Brazil for allegedly “disturbing the peace” during a massive birthday celebration he hosted in Rio de Janeiro this past summer, according
to official sources cited by Marca.
The case, currently being reviewed by Rio de Janeiro’s 9th Special Criminal Court — which handles minor offenses — stems from a complaint filed by a neighbor of the venue where Vinícius celebrated his 25th birthday. The festivities took place between July 19 and the early hours of July 21 at a high-end estate commonly used for weddings and corporate events.
According to the report, the neighbor alleged that the party produced excessive noise that disrupted the area’s peace. After receiving complaints, the Military Police reportedly visited the property and instructed guests to lower the volume. The officers said the request was initially followed, but once they left, the music volume and noise “rose again to an extremely high level.”
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 6. Under Brazilian law, “disturbing the work or peace of others” can result in a sentence of up to three months in jail or a fine.
Local outlets described Vinícius’s celebration as a large-scale event with around 500 attendees, complete with live performances — including a concert by American rapper Travis Scott — fireworks, and even amusement rides. Several celebrities and fellow footballers attended, among them Real Madrid teammate Eduardo Camavinga and Brazilian pop star Anitta.
