Michigan’s offseason churn continued on Thursday evening, as true freshman offensive lineman Ty Haywood entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Haywood, a highly regarded four-star prospect and one of the crown jewels of Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, arrived in Ann Arbor with the expectation of competing early along the offensive line. Instead, after a developmental first season that kept him largely out of the rotation — only playing 15 snaps in three games — he will now explore options elsewhere.
He is the fourth offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal this offseason for the Wolverines, joining Kaden Strayhorn, Connor Jones and Ben Roebuck. Jake Guarnera and Andrew Sprague also entered the portal, but ended up withdrawing their names from the portal.
He will have four years of eligibility left at his next school. We wish Haywood nothing but the best.
