We are about two hours from kickoff in Norman for Michigan vs. Oklahoma, which means the Wolverines’ injury report was just released. Unfortunately for Michigan, there are several key players on both offense and defense that are being ruled questionable for tonight’s Top-25 showdown.
Let’s get to this week’s injury report.
Out
- CB Shamari Earls
- QB Davis Warren
- RB Micah Ka’apana
- RB John Volker
- DL Ike Iwunnah
Questionable
- QB Mikey Keene
- Edge Derrick Moore
- CB Caleb Anderson
- CB Jo’Ziah Edmond
- TE Marlin Klein
- S Rod Moore
- OL Andrew Sprague
- TE Hogan Hansen
Klein being questionable is a major development for Michigan, as he was the leading receiver in the Week 1 win over New Mexico with six catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. He was also
huge in the run-blocking game, helping Justice Haynes spring a couple runs that went for more than 50 yards.
With Klein questionable to play — and that seems to be the best case scenario given the rumors from this week — the Wolverines are really hoping Hansen is fully recovered from the injury that he’s been dealing with since the spring and will be available tonight. It also wouldn’t be a shock to see more of Zack Marshall and Jalen Hoffman as well.
Meanwhile, Rod Moore being upgraded from out to questionable is a significant change from last week. However, if I were a betting man — which I am from time to time — I would wager he also misses next week’s game at home vs Central Michigan before attempting to return when Big Ten play opens up at Nebraska the following week.
Other new additions to the injury report include Jo’Ziah Edmond, Derrick Moore and Andrew Sprague. All three of these guys played last week against New Mexico. Sprague left the game due to cramps, so he should be good to go this week. However, it’s unclear how and when Edmond and Moore got hurt, so hopefully those injuries aren’t serious and they are good to go.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
