When you have explosive personalities like Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks sharing the floor, there’s always the possibility that a spark will ignite a fire. And on Monday night, as the Warriors took on the Suns, we got exactly those fireworks.
In the third quarter, with the Suns up eight points, a technical foul was called on Draymond Green after he threw Khaman Maluach to the floor during an and-one opportunity for the second-year big man. Coming to the defense of his teammate, Dillon Brooks attempted
to hold Green back, prompting Draymond to aggressively grab Brooks’ jersey near his throat.
Essentially, Green believed Maluach had boxed him out and flopped on the play, which led to him throwing the young center to the ground. Brooks appeared to step in and restrain Green from continuing to go after Maluach, who was still on the floor, but Green’s initial response was to escalate the confrontation.
The officials reviewed the altercation, ultimately assessing a double technical foul. Green was charged with two technical fouls during the incident, resulting in his ejection from the game.
