Last week, I examined the running backs the Buffalo Bills defense will face this upcoming season. Now we are switch to the wide receivers. The Bills are scheduled to see a collection of great receivers, which means big tests for the likes of veteran Christian Benford and Maxwell Hairston.
Buffalo will square off against five wideouts who finished in the top 10 of receiving yards in 2025 season. Two of those receivers are on the same team in Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams of the Detroit Lions.
Zay Flowers will look to repeat his dominant performance he had against the Bills last season for Baltimore while Puka Nacua looks to rekindle the same magic against Benford he conjured a couple of years ago. Nico Collins is the other wideout on the Bills schedule who finished Top 10 in yards in 2026. Back to Nacua — Buffalo will also be facing his teammate Davante Adams who led the league in touchdowns a year ago despite missing multiple contests near the end of the regular season.
There are some rookie receivers facing the Bills that are worth keeping an eye on as well, and Omar Cooper Jr. is chief among them. Of course, the Bills defense will game plan for him twice this season as a member of the New York Jets. This could be an interesting little storyline to track as Jets media seemed to be convince that the team sniped the Bills of Cooper even though the Bills were trading back at will on draft night. That narrative seemed pretty bunk to us, though.
Staying in the division, keep an eye out for Miami Dolphins receiver Chris Bell who was highly touted at Louisville before an ACL injury. The Dolphins elected to release Tyreek Hill and traded Jaylen Waddle so there are plenty of targets available in Miami with new quarterback Malik Willis.
Do any receivers on Buffalo’s schedule scare you?
