Travis Kelce sets NFL record for yards after catch | FOX 4
The 36-year-old set the NFL record for most yards after the catch against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football.
Kelce surpassed Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk to supplant himself at the top of the list. He accomplished the feat in the first half of the game and also scored a touchdown.
Other NFL records Kelce holds are career postseason games, postseason 100-yard games and career Super Bowl receptions.

It’s hard to find many situational stats where Kansas City doesn’t look good, but they’re a really good team once a game gets to overtime.
When they pulled out an overtime win over the Colts on Sunday night, it was their sixth win in their last six overtime games. Their last overtime loss was to the Bengals in the 2021 AFC Championship Game. Even with that, they’re now 9-1 in overtime games since the start of the 2019 season.

How big of a concern is the Chiefs defense after it struggled to stop the Colts?
Pretty big. The Chiefs defense was never going to replicate a nearly flawless opener against the Broncos where it allowed just nine first downs in 11 non-kneeldown drives. The defense’s effort against the Colts, though, was a disaster for most of the night. In its first eight non-kneeldown possessions, Indianapolis scored six times.
The Chiefs’ pass rush? Nearly non-existent. The secondary? Picked on repeatedly, starting with slot cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, whom the Colts saw as the weak link, targeting him 12 times for nine receptions, per SumerSports’ data. First-round rookie Mansoor Delane did not play because of a shoulder injury, and he certainly was missed on a night when the Chiefs defense disappointed. — Newell

Did Patrick Mahomes’ performance demonstrate the Chiefs are back as contenders? That appears to be the case after two weeks. In overtime, Mahomes orchestrated the 25th winning drive of his 10-year career, which is tied with Kirk Cousins for second most in that span. Last season, the Chiefs were bad in one-score games, finishing with a 1-9 record. Mahomes, though, proved he’s capable of carrying the Chiefs yet again to another dramatic win. In just his second game after recovering from the torn ACL and LCL in his left knee, Mahomes finished with 382 passing yards and three touchdowns without committing a turnover.

Concerns exist regarding the quality of the playing surface in Rio de Janeiro for next Sunday’s game between the Ravens and Cowboys. The league, however, is undeterred.
Via Mark Maske of Front Office Sports, a league spokesperson said Sunday that (quoting Maske not the spokesperson) “the league is looking forward to the game in Rio and, as with all international games, it has a plan in place to ensure a high-quality playing surface.”
Separately, the NFL Players Association told Maske that it’s aware of the situation, and that it has been in touch with the league office about it.

Todd Monken initially brushed off former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin’s recent “Browns is the Browns” diss. He had a much different response, however, following the Browns’ Week 2 win over the Buccaneers, Monken’s first win as an NFL head coach.
“Browns are gonna Browns. F–k that! The guys took that to heart,” Monken said.

It’s unclear whether Harbaugh, who often pauses at random times in his news conferences, was doing so because of the chant or whether he even heard it. Nonetheless, the moment was a cruel reminder of how quickly things have changed for the Chargers.
“We’ll look at the tape. We’ll go back to work. That’s all I know how to do,” Harbaugh said as the chants continued.
Coming into this season, ESPN’s Football Power Index gave the Chargers the fifth-highest odds to win the Super Bowl. And Sunday’s game was supposed to be a bounce-back opportunity for a team hoping to contend.

The Chiefs’ pass game is limited by its top wideouts
However, the team’s top wideouts — Rice and Worthy — still lack the tough-catch ability crucial against modern pass coverages that rarely give receivers room to breathe. I mentioned Rice’s play late in the game earlier, but Worthy also mishandled a rifling throw from Mahomes that would’ve gotten the offense inside the five-yard line.
In overtime, Thornton made his second downfield catch of the game, hanging on through a big hit by the oncoming safety to keep the drive alive on third and long. When it comes to catches in traffic, especially further downfield, Thornton has been much more reliable than the players who receive the top-2 most snaps in the receiving room.
