MBB Bracket Breakdown
With the men’s basketball season starting, we have some preseason bracketology going on. For whatever reason, College Hoops Today thinks the Mountain West is only a one-bid league, with San Diego State getting the automatic qualifying spot. Meanwhile, Joe Lunardi with ESPN has two teams, the Aztecs as a seven-seed and the Broncos as part of the last four in. It’s also worth noting he has Utah State in his next four out.
Mountain West Rankings
Chris Murray takes his stance on how the conference is shaping up this week. The top four (SDSU, Boise State, UNLV, Hawaii) are all the same this week, with New Mexico and Fresno State swapping places. Wyoming jumps up two spots and Utah State takes a step back, as does Air Force. The bottom three of SJSU, Colorado State, and Nevada all stay the same.
Athlon Bowl Projections
Athlon finally seems to have some relevant updates this week. Boise State is still in the LA Bowl but San Diego State has moved to the Potato Bowl. Hawaii remains in Hawaii while Fresno State goes to the Arizona Bowl. The Lobos are staying in New Mexico and UNLV is slated for the First Responders Bowl. Currently, Utah State is not in these projections.
