Will Micah Parsons play on Sunday for the Green Bay Packers? It seems that the team is trying to leave that as a bit of an open question, listing him as limited on the first two injury reports of the week and refusing to confirm whether or not they plan to make him active for the team’s week one game against the Detroit Lions.
But don’t believe it. Barring a catastrophic injury in Friday’s practice, Parsons is playing on Sunday. The only questions should be how much and in what situations.
To that
end, the words typed out by Packers reporters trying to project the answers to those questions could fill an entire library. But one thing is certain: this team didn’t trade for one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL to let him sit on the sidelines on third downs — especially against a player like Jared Goff, who remains one of the most sensitive quarterbacks to pressure in the NFL.
The total number of snaps that Parsons plays probably is not the important thing on Sunday. Instead, it will be when the team can get him on the field that is the critical piece, with them likely to focus on getting him into the Lions’ backfield. And what we see on Sunday should be just a glimpse of the impact he can provide for this team and this defense for the weeks and years to come.

That said, Parsons is finally getting back in football shape after not practicing through OTAs, minicamp, and training camp. It should be no surprise that he has a bit of tightness to work out, but there is effectively zero chance that he is inactive on Sunday.

Hafley said that he thinks Bullard had a “really good rookie year,” which my not match up with some fans’ and analysts’ opinions. Still, Bullard dealt with a fractured heel bone towards the latter part of last year, which is now fully healed and should give him a boost heading into year two.
