An Olympian is officially on his way to the Octagon.
After months of anticipation, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) finally signed Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, announcing his arrival during UFC 327 this past weekend.
And he won’t be waiting long to debut.
The undefeated top Heavyweight prospect is set to make his first walk to the cage at UFC 329 during International Fight Week on Sat., July 11, 2026. His opponent has yet to be revealed.
Steveson, who enters the promotion with plenty
of hype and a perfect 3-0 MMA record, didn’t hold back when reacting to the news.
“Man, I feel amazing,” Steveson told the UFC. “This is going to be the biggest debut on earth, and I’m ready. The butterflies, the jitters, it’s all part of the game, and I’m ready to take that big step to the UFC and do what I need to do. Man, I think International Fight Week is going to be crazy. You know, maybe a crazy headliner that might come back that you guys might know, so who knows?”
Wait a second, did Steveson tease the return of Conor McGregor, who has been heavily linked to UFC 329?
It could be a massive summer.
Nevertheless, Steveson enters the UFC with plenty of hype and a perfect record. He knocked out Braden Peterson in under two minutes (watch highlights) in his MMA debut before scoring a 24-second knockout over Kevin Hein later in 2025 (watch highlights). Earlier this year, the 25-year-old scored another stoppage win over Hugo Lezama in Mexico (watch highlights).
Before stepping into the Octagon, Steveson is competing at RAF 09 next month — staying active just weeks ahead of his UFC debut.
Now, the countdown begins.
Get hyped.
