Zach Ertz isn’t the only player joining the Philadelphia Eagles this week. The team is signing veteran defensive back Kenny Moore II, on what is reported to be a one-year deal worth up to $3 million. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reportedthat the plan is for Moore to play safety and nickel corner in Philadelphia.
The 31-year-old defender brings nine years of experience, all with the Colts, and will add some depth to a group that has already dealt with injuries. His presence gives the Eagles more flexibility
in their secondary. The Colts waived Moore shortly after the 2026 NFL Draft, and he spent the offseason looking for a new place to land.
The Pro Bowler’s career includes 649 total tackles, 68 passes defended, 21 interceptions, 20 QB hits, 11.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles.
With Reed Blankenship leaving for Houston this offseason, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has played Cooper DeJean at safety in their base packages. Moore will add another option as the defense looks to tighten things up after two close games to open the season.

- Moore reunites with Nick Sirianni, who he overlapped with in Indy from 2018-2020. Moore also overlapped with current Eagles secondary coach Mike Pellegrino on the New England Patriots in 2018 when Moore was an undrafted rookie free agent in training camp.
- Interested to see how the Eagles handle their secondary configuration. With Marcus Epps struggling, could they move Cooper DeJean to safety full-time and play Kenny Moore II at nickel cornerback? Guessing that’s not the first choice. But Moore lacks safety experience, so, it’s not like it’s a no-brainer to put him on the back end. We’ll see.
