We’re two days away from the first game of the 2025 World Series between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays. The best-of-seven series will open in Toronto Friday night. As we wait for the first pitch, the baseball
world is still buzzing about the Shohei Ohtani’s Game Four performance against the Brewers.
The two-way player hit three home runs in Game Four including a leadoff blast [VIDEO].
In case you’re wondering how rare that is, he’s just the 12th player in baseball history to accomplish that feat. The complete list courtesy of Yahoo Sports is below. Fun fact: It includes Ohtani’s teammate Enrique Hernández, as well as Mr. October himself, Reggie Jackson, plus some guy named Babe Ruth, who did it twice.
But it wasn’t just the long balls. Shohei Ohtani started this game for the Dodgers and oh, what a start it was. He threw six innings of scoreless baseball giving up no earned runs and allowing just two hits while walking three and striking out 10. Let’s watch all of those strikeouts again [VIDEO].
It was an historic performance from a historic player. While I’ll be cheering for the Blue Jays in the World Series, like millions of baseball fans, I cannot wait to see what Ohtani does next.
