Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund is not losing sleep over his contract situation.
As recently reported, the club appears to be satisfied with Freund’s work over the last three seasons, and is reportedly planning to extend his contract soon. Freund still has nine months on his current deal, which expires in the summer of 2027. However, he is in no hurry to sign an extension.
Speaking to Sky Sport journalist Torben Hoffmann, Freund made it clear that his priority at the moment remains
on the team’s performances on the pitch, while also emphasizing the work done in the latest transfer window (Sky Germany’s Torben Hoffmann via @iMiaSanMia). “We’ll see. It was important to have a good transfer window. I’m enjoying working here at FC Bayern, we have a great team working together, we’re doing a good job. So we’ll see. There’s no rush, I still have nine months on my current contract. The most important thing is that we play well and win games. Everything else comes after.”
With Bayern having already extended the contracts of board member for sport Max Eberl and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen through 2029, Freund is set to be the next piece of the club’s leadership to receive a new deal.
