“What’s next for LA Knight” was a big topic of discussion heading into Money in the Bank on Saturday night (Oct. 10). Before it was announced as the premium live event’s opening match, there was talk of WWE booking a surprise World Heavyweight title win over Roman Reigns, and some compelling fantasy booking scenarios floating around the wrestle web that laid out how Knight’s long-debated run with one of WWE’s top belts could come about.
95% of the suspense around the outcome went away when we found
out the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match wouldn’t be before Knight vs. Reigns. But the Tribal Chief and the Megastar surprised a lot of people and set the bar high with their show-starting battle in New Orleans.
Ultimately, it ended with a loss for Knight that convinced a lot of fans the 43-year-old’s not going to get a World title run in WWE.
What did LA’s boss, chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque have to say about the PLE’s vanquished challenger? On the Money in the Bank Post-Show, he told Cathy Kelley:
“LA Knight, to me, left this match greater than he went in. LA Knight proved that he is a Megastar. LA Knight proved that he belongs in that title scene. LA Knight proved he is a top attraction in this business.
Sounds good, but what else he is gonna say? Especially when The Game spent most of his time talking about what Roman proved with the win:
“Roman Reigns proved there is only one Roman Reigns.”
What do you think of LA Knight’s spot coming out of his Money in the Bank loss?
