The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report of the week on Thursday in advance of their Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders.
The Eagles listed six players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Jihaad Campbell, Britain Covey, and Jonathan Jones.
Barkley is tracking to miss Sunday’s game. If he can’t play, the Eagles are left with one healthy running back on the active roster: Jaydon Blue. Blue was called up from the practice squad
on Wednesday. Playing for the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie last season, Blue logged 38 carries for 129 rushing yards (3.4 average) in addition to one reception for five receiving yards. The Eagles also have Elijah Mitchell, whom the team temporarily elevated to be available to play in Week 7, on the practice squad. Jaydon Blue and Elijah Mitchell. Not exactly the most inspiring backfield for the Eagles to work with!
Smitty and Wicks are tracking to miss another game after also being unavailable in Week 7. With these two potentially out and Covey unlikely to play, the Eagles are down to the following wide receivers: Darius Cooper, Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, and Elijah Moore. They also have three practice squad receivers: Erik Ezukanma, Xavier Gipson, and the newly signed Quentin Skinner.
Campbell is track to miss Sunday’s game after getting banged up in Week 7. Look for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to start next to Zack Baun.
Jones is also set to miss Sunday’s game, leaving the Eagles without their top backup cornerback on the outside.
The Eagles listed six players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Michael Carter II, Nolan Smith, Jonathan Greenard, Jalyx Hunt, Moro Ojomo, and Marcus Epps.
Smith was listed as limited for the second day in a row. He has a chance to return after missing Week 7 due to a concussion. Carter II also has a chance to play for the first time since getting injured in Week 5.
Greenard, Hunt, and Ojomo were also listed as limited for the second day in a row. Guessing they’ll be able to play, albeit at less than 100%.
Epps is a new addition to the report with his injury description listed as “jaw/concussion evaluation.” He apparently got banged up during Thursday’s practice. Epps began the season as the safety next to Andrew Mukuba in nickel packages but was then relegated to special teams duty only after struggling on defense.
The Eagles listed eight players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Zack Baun, Landon Dickerson, Dallas Goedert, Drew Kendall, Tyler Steen, Arnold Ebiketie, Smael Mondon, and Jakorian Bennett.
Baun, Dickerson, Goedert, Kendall, Steen, and Ebiketie were all listed as full participants for the second day in a row. They’ll play on Sunday.
Bennett was also full go again but he’s still on injured reserve. The Eagles have until 4:00 PM Eastern on Saturday to activate him to the roster if they want him to suit up against Washington. If not, he’ll remain on IR in his 21-day practice window that will soon be closing.
Mondon was upgraded from limited on Wednesday to full on Thursday.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)
Three changes from Washington’s Wednesday report:
- Stefon Diggs was upgraded to full participation after resting yesterday.
- Treylon Burks, who is now WR3 with Terry McLaurin out for the season, was downgraded from limited to DNP. He might be in jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game, leaving the Commanders thinner at wide receiver.
- Starting center Nick Allegretti was unexpectedly added to the report with a back injury. The Commanders are already weak at the pivot, so, that’s not an ideal development for them.
In other news, starting defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw and No. 2 tight end (primarily a blocker) John Bates missed practice for the second day in a row. They’re tracking to miss Sunday’s game.
