Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has dropped a bit of a bombshell and claimed that Julian Alvarez is wanted by three clubs this summer, including Barcelona.
The Argentina international is reportedly Barca’s top transfer target, with the Catalan giants believed to have already made contact with their La Liga rivals to discuss a possible move.
Simeone was asked about the situation ahead of Atletico’s Champions League tie with Arsenal and says Barcelona aren’t the only club keen on the forward.
“I’m
not in Julian Alvarez’s head. I suppose that’s just normal,” he told reporters.
“He is an extraordinary player. There’s interest from Arsenal, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and other teams. But there is nothing to be concerned about.”
The news is likely to be a blow to Barcelona, particularly as there are already doubts over how the Catalans can afford a deal for Alvarez,
