Transfer portal season is upon us, and by day three of the portal window, many players are already landing at new homes for 2026.
One of those players is former Buffalo wide receiver Victor Snow, who announced his transfer to NC State on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Snow earned First Team All-MAC honors as a wide receiver and Second Team All-MAC honors as a return
specialist in 2025. The year prior, he was recognized as a Third Team All-MAC selection at wide receiver. Snow leaves Buffalo as the program’s 12th leading receiver with 1,478 yards, checking in at sixth in touchdowns with 14.
Snow launched his college career at Nevada in 2022 and transferred to Buffalo for the 2023 campaign after obtaining just one catch in Reno. The 5’8”, 168 pound receiver’s production remained similar in 2023 as he snagged one reception with the Bulls, but he finally broke out in 2024 as a 13-game starter. With increased opportunity, Snow capitalized with 651 yards and six touchdowns as the No. 1 option on a 9-4 team that won the Bahamas Bowl.
In 2025, Snow took his production to another level with 815 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He came up in critical moments throughout the year, hauling in the game-winning touchdown with 1:03 remaining to defeat Kent State and another game winner with 19 seconds left to upend UMass. The All-MAC selection also notched a go-ahead touchdown in overtime during Buffalo’s thrilling 31-30 victory over Eastern Michigan.
Snow showcased his versatility, rushing for 91 yards (7.6 average) and two touchdowns as a recurring jet sweep specialist. He also shined as a return man, logging a 65-yard punt return score in a 28-3 pummeling of Bowling Green.
Snow enters his final year of eligibility at NC State where he will play under two-time MAC Championship-winning head coach Dave Doeren. The Wolfpack are slated to lose each of their top four receiving yards leaders, including senior tight end Justin Joly. Wesley Grimes is another departing senior in that group, while other receivers Terrell Anderson and Noah Rogers are off to the portal. Snow expects to make immediate impact for an NC State team fresh off an 8-5 season, looking to take the jump to its first 10-win campaign since 2002.
As for Buffalo, expect a significant reset at receiver after Snow and second-leading receiver Nik McMillan both entered the portal. Senior Jasaiah Gathings ranked third among the wide receivers in yardage, making Chance Morrow (129 yards on 8 receptions) the returning leader in the category for the time being.
