Kelce brothers bringing a New Heights tailgate to Arrowhead. Here’s what to know | The Kansas City Star
The tailgate runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Lot M at the Truman Sports Complex, ahead of the 3:25 p.m. kickoff between the Chiefs and Chargers on Oct. 18.
Jason Kelce will attend, but Travis Kelce won’t make it to the parking lot because he’ll be preparing to play. “I will be there. Travis will also be there, but he will be getting ready to play a football game, so he will not be at the tailgate,” Jason Kelce said on the podcast.
Jason Kelce will have a meet and greet with fans from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Tyreek Hill rumors: Do Chiefs even have room for WR after reworking record-breaking offense? | CBS Sports
Most signs point toward this move. The Chiefs’ best home run threat, Tyquan Thornton, dislocated his ankle in Week 4, which puts the rest of his season in doubt. Plus, Mahomes’ connection with Xavier Worthy has never materialized. Mahomes is 8-for-37 targeting Worthy on deep balls, the worst completion rate (21.6%) among 38 duos with 25+ targets since 2024. An already thin WR room could take another hit at any moment, too, based on Rashee Rice’s track record.
Mahomes led the NFL with 41 touchdown passes on deep balls from 2018-21. He had just SEVEN in four-plus seasons since. Aidan O’Connell has more in that span (eight) for crying out loud! That’s the Tyreek Hill effect.
Three Ways Josh Simmons’ Eventual Return Can Help Chiefs Moving Forward | Sports Illustrated
To this point, per TruMedia, Kansas City has the third-highest share of passes at or behind the line of scrimmage at 32.0%. It’s also in the bottom 10 in average yards to the sticks at -1.6, as well as in the top 10 in percentage of throws faster than 2.5 seconds (44.5%). A quick-game passing attack isn’t fun for anyone and, more importantly, it leaves infinitely less margin for error. Just ask the 2024 and 2025 Chiefs.
Losing wide receiver Tyquan Thornton to an ankle injury hurts, surely, but the return of Simmons figures to potentially unleash the version of the Kansas City offense that was imagined during training camp.

The Chiefs also have L’Jarius Sneed, who has dealt with a nagging knee injury for three or four years. Goldman said Kansas City knows how to manage it and get him to game day every week. He still sees risk there.
“All it takes is one bad play for that injury to flare up and for him to be out for a period of time, and then suddenly now you only have three good cornerbacks that you feel comfortable and confident with putting out there,” Goldman said.
The Chiefs have reason to think twice. The old NFL saying is that you can never have too many cornerbacks, and that applies to Kansas City right now.

Ryan Fitzpatrick rips Broncos’ Bo Nix: ‘Almost disrespectful to the quarterback position’ | The Athletic
Nix completed 17 of 27 pass attempts for 107 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions. His 4 yards per attempt were the fourth lowest in a game this season by any starting quarterback.
In the “Thursday Night Football” postgame show on Amazon Prime, analyst and 17-year NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had some strong words while assessing Nix’s performance.
“I’m glad (the Broncos) scored the two touchdowns in the first half, but they were in four-minute mode when the second half started,” Fitzpatrick said. “It was really frustrating to watch. And part of it for me is Bo Nix is not playing competitively. It’s almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he’s playing football right now.”
Texans RB Montgomery, S Pitre out for London affair vs. Jaguars | ESPN
The Texans will travel to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars without at least a pair of starters.
Houston (1-4) ruled running back David Montgomery (groin) and safety Jalen Pitre (shoulder) out for Sunday’s matchup against the Jaguars (4-1) at Wembley Stadium.
Montgomery and Pitre, who suffered their respective injuries during last week’s 26-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans, have started every game this season for the Texans.
New report links Greg Olsen to Monday Night Football in 2027 | Pro Football Talk
It’s just a prediction, but Ourand wouldn’t throw something like that around unless he had good reason to believe it.
Hovering over any of the top spots will be Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who has the chops and the cachet to pick his spot and name his price.
Olsen, who has won multiple Emmys (including the most recent one, from his spot on the Fox “B” team) seems destined to land with a No. 1 team, somewhere. Whether that’s ESPN, CBS, or Prime Video, it seems inevitable that Olsen, who was bumped to the bench because Fox wanted Tom Brady, will once again have a prime spot, somewhere.

Eric Bieniemy on Chiefs’ passionate moments: ‘It’s all about survival’
“Sometimes, you’re going to agree with things, and sometimes you’re going to disagree with things, but if there’s something that has taken place out on the field, they may have a better point of view than what we do off the field, so I want them to feel comfortable coming to share that stuff with me,” Bieniemy said.
The short video made it clear that Bieniemy was listening to Mahomes and making an effort to hear him out. It’s part of his coaching style and his overall mentality as a former player.
“There is no issue of communication,” Bieniemy clarified. “We play in the arena; it’s all about survival… You’re inviting all of that because I’d rather him come and vent his frustrations at me than to vent it in a different place where it’s not going to be taken the right way.”
