With the announcement of MLB’s monthly awards, a pair of Brewers received accolades for their recent production. Brice Turang won the National League Player of the Month with Freddy Peralta securing the Pitcher of the Month award. Recognition for Turang and Peralta came from their outstanding performance in August, spurring the team to a 21-9 record.
Turang’s exceptional month was highlighted by his 10 home runs and a .343 batting average. He has developed into one of the most consistent hitters in the lineup.
His .343/.398/.694 slash line helped lead to his output of 24 RBIs, 23 runs, and three stolen bases.
On the mound, Peralta was just as impressive. The Brewers’ ace gave up one run across the entire month. His 0.32 ERA came across 28 innings, recording a win in four of his five starts. During this span, Peralta’s strikeout rate ticked up too, tallying 34 Ks to 12 walks. Peralta dominated hitters each time he was on the mound, not just with strikeouts, but by limiting batters to a 20% hard-hit rate as well.
