The hits just keep coming for Bayern Munich — defender Hiroki Itō is set for a spell on the sidelines with an injury.
Tz journalist Philipp Kessler checked in with an X post earlier today stating that Itō suffered a torn muscle fiber in his thigh during training on Thursday. Itō, who missed nearly all of last season with a major foot injury, just cannot seem to catch a break (or stay healthy):
Hiroki Ito suffered a torn muscle fiber in his thigh during FC Bayern’s training session on Thursday.
Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau added more context to the report in capturing Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund saying Ito would be out two to three weeks:
Hiroki Ito suffers a muscle fiber tear! According to Christoph Freund, the Japanese player will be out for “two to three weeks.” @SkySportDE
Itō and fellow defender Kim Min-jae both left training early on Thursday. For Kim, the knee problems he experienced in training were minor and will not prevent him from traveling with the squad to face Borussia Dortmund per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):
Kim Min-jae, who had to cut Thursday’s training session short due to minor knee problems, has not suffered an injury. He will be able to travel with the team to Dortmund today.
