The Women’s Basketball transfer portal officially opened on Monday and the Horned Frogs now have two players from its roster set to depart the program with freshman center Emily Hunter announcing her intention to transfer via social media. Hunter did not score during her seven games played during her true freshman campaign in Fort Worth, logging two rebounds and one assist in limited action.
The 6-foot-8 center from Tennessee was rated as a four-star prospect
per the 247Sports composite rankings, a top-100 player nationally and top-10 center in the Class of 2025. Hunter signed with TCU out of high school, selecting the Frogs over offers from North Carolina, Ole Miss, Florida among others. The Horned Frogs expect to return sophomore Clara Silva and freshman Sarah Portlock at the center position while senior rim protector Kennedy Basham has graduated. Hunter is the second member of the Elite Eight squad to depart the program since the transfer window opened, joining senior forward Aaliyah Roberson.
