Jackson ‘unlikely’ to hit appearance milestones to trigger obligation to buy (Bild via @iMiaSanMia)
Take this for what it is worth, but Bild is reporting that milestones built into Bayern Munich’s obligation to buy clause with Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson will be very difficult for the attacker to achieve, which could prevent the full transfer from going all the way through:
It’s rather unlikely that the obligation to buy for Nicolas Jackson will come into effect, as the clause involves a ‘very, very high’ number of appearances for it to be triggered.
If true, that would ease some of the financial
worry about a player who was riding pine in London. While a nice addition to complement the starters in Bavaria this season, the rumored total fee (€65 obligation to buy + €16.5 million loan fee + five-year contract with an annual salary of €14 million) is sort of ridiculous for a guy with no defined future role and also makes you wonder why Bayern Munich did not just buck up the €65-€70 million that VfB Stuttgart originally wanted for Nick Woltemade.
If Bayern Munich ends up having to buy Jackson in full, this deal could end very worrisome.
