John Cena is now retired following his loss to GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C. AJ Styles has openly talked about finishing up his career in 2026. Reports are now going around
that WWE could be scripting the end of Brock Lesnar’s career as well.
The times they are a-changin’, folks.
But we won’t be adding CM Punk’s name to the list, thankfully, anytime soon. That’s according to the man himself on the Saturday Night’s Main Event post-show when asked if he wants to go out like Cena did:
“When I make allusions to the end of whatever my career is going to look like, it’s not because I feel like I’m there. It’s because I look back at the entirety of my career and there is a lot more road behind me than there is in front of me. “Trust me, I am the champion for a reason, and I’m here to stay, and nobody’s going to change that. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.”
Punk is indeed the world heavyweight champion and his latest run in WWE has been nothing short of a spectacular success, both for the man and the company. If he’s healthy, and he seems to be, who cares if he’s just one year younger than Cena? He’s still out there giving his all while working a schedule that better suits his needs.
A win for everybody.
