Last night’ 20-10 victory over Florida might have been an ugly game that set offensive football back several decades, but it was a win by God and LSU (3-0, 1-0) remain in the No. 3 spot in this week’s AP Poll.
The biggest winner in this week’s poll is Texas A&M, as the jumped up six spots to No. 10 after last night’s thrilling 41-40 win over Notre Dame in South Bend. The Irish, meanwhile, fell 16 spots from No. 8 to No. 24, but the biggest losers in this week’s poll are the two South Carolina schools.
Both the Gamecocks and the Tigers lost—South Carolina got thumped by Vanderbilt, while Clemson lost at the buzzer to Georgia Tech—and now both are out of the Top 25. If you’re a glass half empty type of person, you might say that LSU’s win over Clemson isn’t all that impressive anymore, but the season’s still early so we’ll see how much weight that win carries come December.
And the Valley Shook is a family website, and as such it is my duty to inform the parents out there that you need to talk to your children about undefeated, nationally ranked Vanderbilt. The Dores blasted Carolina 31-7 at Williams Brice last night, and now Vandy’s ranked No. 20 in the nation. There’s a chance LSU-Vanderbilt is a ranked matchup seeing as Vandy’s next three games are Georgia State, Utah State, and at Alabama. Who had that on their preseason bingo card?
