Bill opened his NFL career with a strong performance against the Giants in Week 1 when he rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown. He won the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for that performance, but he far exceeded it on the road against a better defense this past Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Washington’s impressive win over the LA Chargers.
Bill had 150 yards from scrimmage — 111 rushing and 39 receiving — and scored two rushing touchdowns, both walk-in scores to the left side of the field. The first was from the 15-yard line and the second from the 5.
Bill’s longest run of the day was 27 yards. The only real blemish on his performance was a fumble when he was hit in the backfield as he took the handoff on the first play of the 4th quarter.
This was a special performance by a special player who helped lead his team to an upset win on the road in a ‘gotta have it’ game to keep Washington in the hunt for the NFC East crown on a day when the Eagles lost at home to the Denver Broncos. Thanks in large part to Bill’s massive performance against a tough Chargers defense that entered Sunday’s contest allowing less than 90 total rushing yards per game in the first 4 weeks of the season.
