When we last heard about Konrad Laimer’s contract situation at Bayern Munich, the reporting indicated that the two sides were still far apart on reaching an agreement.
“Ultimately, it’s always about appreciation. That the achievements you’ve made in recent years are recognized somewhere,” Laimer told Servus TV (as captured by FussballTransfers).
From that, we can gather the two sides are still far apart. When asked about the actual contract talks, Laimer indicated that nothing serious had taken place
as of yet.
“There was a brief conversation, then nothing more. Since then, more is being written than anything that is true,” said Laimer, who also added that he was “completely relaxed” about the situation.
That will come as a relief to many Bayern Munich fans as Laimer is a popular figure on the squad. With a financial package of €9 million (salary) + €2,250,000 (bonus), Laimer is — undoubtedly — seeking a significant raise.
Will the Bavarians spend big on another outside-back just a year after splurging on left-back Alphonso Davies?
