Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
RotoPat’s 2026 NFL GM rankings: Analysis for all 32 teams – NBC Sports 1) Howie Roseman, Eagles. Sometimes a fact becomes so obvious, no one bothers saying it out loud. This is where I point out Howie Roseman is already a Hall-of-Famer. Having long since outlasted Andy Reid and Chip Kelly, Roseman has gone on to achieve one of the most difficult feats in professional sports: Winning a championship with two different cores. Even more rare for the NFL,
he has done it with both different coaches and quarterbacks. If the Nick Foles/Doug Pederson season was the fairy tale, the Jalen Hurts/Nick Sirianni title was the legacy-cementer. Those accomplishments coming just seven years apart feels almost impossible in the NFL, but speak to Roseman’s greatest strength: He never wallows in a mistake for long. It didn’t matter that Carson Wentz was the No. 2 overall pick. It was irrelevant that Pederson won a Super Bowl. They were no longer the right fit for Roseman’s roster, so he moved on to greener pastures. Of course, you can only cut your losses if you bank plenty of gains. Roseman is the league’s best overall drafter, excelling both in Round 1 and on Days 2 and 3. He’s a willing trade partner, paying up for players like A.J. Brown and Jaelan Phillips while being unafraid to acquire bounce-back fliers. He’s an adept free agency spender, making signings like Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun. There is no such thing as a perfect general manager, but Roseman is as close as the NFL gets in 2026.
Nolan Smith reportedly arrested – BGN
Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Nolan Smith was arrested last week for alleged speeding and reckless driving, according to a report from The Georgia Gazette. Smith was booked on Friday, May 15. Here’s a look at his mugshot.
Difference Makers – Iggles Blitz
I think Greenard will be a difference-maker for the Eagles. You saw the impact that Jaelan Phillips had when he joined the Eagles at midseason. Greenard is a better player than Phillips. And Greenard will have a full offseason to learn the scheme and fit in with his new team. The Eagles would love to see Greenard rack up 12 sacks like he did in 2023 and 2024, but the real key is for him to be consistently disruptive. He has 43 TFLs in his last 44 games. He’s got 56 QB hits in that same time. Sacks are great, but aren’t the only important stat. Greenard’s presence should help Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt and Arnold Ebiketie. His pressure will create opportunities for them. If Jalen Carter is healthy and back to his 2024 form, the pass rush could be outstanding.
NFL 2026 Offseason Power Rankings: The Rams Jump the Seahawks – The Ringer
6) Last year was a disaster, but this should still be a championship-caliber team. Even after the drama and disappointment of last season, the Eagles should still be considered on the short list of potential champions this season. They still have one of the most talented and complete rosters in football, with several Pro Bowl–caliber players on both sides of the ball, and they have a legendary defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio. And the Eagles will (finally) be trying out the Shanahan-McVay offense with new play caller Sean Mannion. Whether this team can deliver on its championship-level talent will come down to quarterback Jalen Hurts. Once A.J. Brown is traded—a move that’s expected in early June—Hurts will need to prove himself as a quarterback who can truly elevate the play of all his teammates, operating an above-average passing game without needing multiple otherworldly talents at receiver. If Hurts is up to that challenge, Philadelphia could be right back at the top of the NFC again.
Each NFL team’s next best Hall of Fame candidate – NFL.com
Jason Kelce, center. Philadelphia Eagles (2011-2023). Kelce, who gains eligibility in 2029, figures to go in on either his first or second ballot. He’s an extremely recognizable figure, and Kelce’s tremendous accomplishments — he’s a six-time first-team All-Pro — make him a relatively easy call, even at the historically difficult position of center. Fletcher Cox is also eligible that same year, and he might get in eventually, but Kelce is the no-brainer call here.

‘Which’ Wednesday: Do the Chiefs need to trade for or sign a receiver? – Arrowhead Pride
There are also players in the middle of trade speculation that could be worth looking into for Kansas City. Alber Breer of Sports Illustrated floated the idea of the Chiefs going after Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown because Kansas City was on Brown’s list of preferred destinations, but he also said quickly after bringing it up, “I don’t think that happens.”
4 potential problems that could derail the 2026 Cowboys – Blogging The Boys
Tyler Guyton & Terence Steele fail to protect Dak. When things are clicking, the Cowboys’ offense can stand toe-to-toe with any opposing offense in the NFL. Unfortunately, because the defense has played so badly in recent years, the offense has been forced to do just that, often playing in shootouts. Prescott has more than proven that he can shoulder the offense and put up prolific numbers. Yet, what can make things come crashing down is the offensive tackles. Tyler Guyton is heading into his third season and hasn’t proven that he can be a reliable starter. He has struggled with penalties and has too often allowed immediate pressure on Prescott. Dallas added Drew Shelton during the draft, but can one expect him to be ready to fill in if Guyton sputters again? Reasonably, the Cowboys have hitched their wagon to Guyton being better than he has up to this point. When you look at the right side of the line, Terence Steele has to be better as well. Per PFF, he graded out among the worst offensive tackles in pass protection, and Dallas cannot afford to have two offensive tackles to allow easy access to their franchise quarterback.
Cowboys hope for ‘big’ jump from healthy DeMarvion Overshown – ESPN
The question was posed to coach Brian Schottenheimer in the final week of the Dallas Cowboys’ 2025 season. What kind of jump can linebacker DeMarvion Overshown make in 2026 after being limited to six games last season while recovering from December 2024 surgery to repair the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee? “I hope it’s big,” coach Brian Schottenheimer said on Jan. 1. “We all know the impact he can have. The type of young man he is and the way that he prepares and works — I love his play style but I love his leadership. And I think … having a full offseason is something that should have him very excited because of the potential and the talent and the drive and work ethic and all of those things. I think he’s made of the right stuff.”
Examining the curious case of Washington Commanders CB Mike Sainristil – Hogs Haven
Whichever Mike Sainristil you choose to look at; the really good 2024 version or the one who struggled throughout most of 2025, one thing is certain – this young man has the skills to play at a high level in this league if used correctly in Washington’s defense. I have not lost hope in the young man… have you?
Cam Skattebo injury update: Giants’ RB says ‘Week 1, I’ll be ready to go’ – Big Blue View
Perhaps it isn’t something to be alarmed about yet, but New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo indicated during Monday’s Town Hall event at the Bergen Theatre that he isn’t as far along in his return from last season’s devastating leg injury as might have been hoped. “I’m a little ways off, not too far, but I’ll be ready to go,” Skattebo said. “Week 1, I’ll be ready to go.” Skattebo sustained a dislocated ankle and other injuries in Week 8 last season against the Philadelphia Eagles. At John Harbaugh’s introductory press conference, GM Joe Schoen had expressed a belief that Skattebo would be on the field this spring. “He’ll be fine,” Schoen said. “He’ll actually be prepared for the offseason program on April 6th. He should be good.”
Cam Skattebo predicts he’ll do something no Giants player has ever done – SB Nation
Cam Skattebo’s strong rookie season for the New York Giants came to an early end, as the running back suffered a brutal right leg injury in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite playing less than half the season, Skattebo ran for for 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 rushing attempts. Now he has his sights set higher for his second season. Much higher. “I do not consider that successful for me,” Skattebo said at a team town hall event on Monday night. “I had 400 yards on 100 carries. When I play 17-plus games this year, it’s going to be 300 carries for over 2,000 yards.” While that lofty goal drew hearty applause from the Giants fans in attendance at the Beacon Theatre, it would be one of the greatest seasons from a running back in NFL history. Only nine running backs have eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark, most recently former Giant Saquon Barkley, who accomplished the feat with the Eagles during the 2024 season.
