The Green Bay Packers’ offensive line has become a popular offseason target for skeptics.
One recent article highlighted the unit as one of Green Bay’s biggest question marks, noting that several national analysts rank the Packers’ offensive line near the bottom third of the NFL after the departures of Rasheed Walker and Elgton Jenkins. Makes sense on paper.
But they also ignore why the Packers have been comfortable making so few outside additions.
This isn’t a team hoping inexperienced players magically
figure it out. It’s a team betting on a development pipeline that has, more often than not over recent decades, consistently produced starting-caliber offensive linemen.
I think the biggest reason for optimism is Jordan Morgan. After spending much of his rookie season bouncing between positions, he finally appears set to take over at his natural spot at left tackle. Justis Mosqueda recently noted that Morgan looked considerably more comfortable on the edge than at guard, suggesting a full-time move back to tackle could unlock the player Green Bay thought it drafted in the first round.
Anthony Belton is another key piece. While still developing, the second-year lineman has the size, athleticism and versatility the Packers covet, and Green Bay appears confident a full offseason focused on one position will accelerate his growth. The organization also still has developmental options such as Jacob Monk competing for depth on the interior.
None of this guarantees the Packers will field an elite offensive line in 2026. But it does explain why the front office wasn’t eager to chase veteran replacements.
The national conversation focuses on who Green Bay lost and known names they neglected to bring in. The Packers are focused on who they believe is ready to step up. If Morgan and Belton take the expected second-year leap, this year’s offensive line could look much better than many expect.
Why Green Bay’s OL could actually improve this season – Green Bay offense might not be elite upfront, but it’s a viable group who has a real shot to be better than it was last season.
Will Anthony Belton be a standout player in 2026? – For the Green Bay Packers to take the next step, they need significant internal growth on the offensive line, especially from Anthony Belton.
Packers’ Tucker Kraft ranked 6th best TE in new poll – ESPN surveyed league executives, coaches and scouts to rank the top 10 players at 11 different positions. Up today: tight ends.
Micah Parsons calls out disrespect toward Jordan Love – Reacting to the NFL Top 100 list, Green Bay’s star pass rusher had this to say: “71 players…aren’t better than Jordan Love.”
