What is the story about?

The Los Angeles Chargers are facing off against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 at Lumen Field hoping to grab their first win of the season.

The Chargers have dropped their first three games and have been one of the more disappointing teams in the league. Nothing more would get them back on track with a statement win in Week 4 against the defending Super Bowl champions. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chargers are an underdog by a touchdown. Let’s take a look at some predictions for the game.

Over/Under: 43.5

The Chargers

and Seahawks have both been inconsistent this season when it comes to their offense. At times, the Chargers have looked flat, while the Seahawks have looked better. After scoring just 13 points in their debut against the New England Patriots, the Seahawks have posted back-to-back 30-point performances, one each from Drew Lock and Sam Darnold.

This number suggests there will be at least six touchdowns in the game, assuming all the extra points are made as well. This game could turn into a track meet if the Chargers score early, but if the Seahawks grab a lead, they will do anything they can to protect it. I believe the Seahawks will strike first, making this a low-scoring game.

Prediction: Under

Chargers +7

FanDuel is giving the Chargers a touchdown to start the game. Given that the game is taking place in Seattle, that would usually give the home team a field goal advantage. The line is a bit surprising, given how the Chargers have not played well.

Los Angeles has lost by more than seven points in each of their first three games this season, making this a line that I’m not willing to trek into. Seattle is playing in front of the 12s for the first time since the season opener and they will be hungry to cheer on their team, making it extremely difficult for Los Angeles.

Prediction: Seahawks -7

Final Score

The Chargers are facing an uphill battle in this game. A win would be exactly what they need to kickstart their year, nothing about the first three weeks of the season has suggested that they will go out and win this game. It’s an incredibly difficult schedule they are facing over the next couple of weeks, and this one might be one of the toughest games in that stretch as the Seahawks look to bounce back from a loss of their own.

The Chargers have the talent to make this game interesting, but I think the Seahawks will score early, and their defense will carry throughout the game.

Seahawks 23, Chargers 13
