The Kentucky Wildcats are set to lose one of their quarterbacks from this past season.
According to On3 reporter Pete Nakos, true freshman Stone Saunders is entering the transfer portal. After redshirting
this season, Saunders will have four remaining seasons of eligibility after not playing at all during the 2025 season.
A 3-star class of 2025 recruit, Saunders signed with Kentucky while holding scholarship offers from Louisville, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Miami, Nebraska, and Michigan, among many others.
During his high school career at Bishop McDevitt (PA), Saunders broke the all-time passing touchdowns record in the state of Pennsylvania. He was projected to be a multi-year starter at a Power Four school. While that still may be the case, it likely won’t be at Kentucky, who is hoping to retain Cutter Boley, a redshirt freshman with three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Best of luck to Saunders as he looks for his next collegiate home!
