Last month, ESPN asked NFL types to rank their top 10 running backs going into the 2026 season.
Ashton Jeanty, the Las Vegas Raiders’ first-round draft pick last year, did not make the list. He did, however, get some votes. We asked our readers in a FEED post if fans think Jeanty will take a big step and be considered a top 10 NFL running back next summer.
And, yes, this post shows how important Jeanty is and how important the news that his injury Sunday isn’t expected to be as serious as first thought.
If seems many fans do, indeed, have faith that Jeanty can make big strides in 2026. The No. 6 overall draft pick certainly had his moments last season and he showed very nice ability to break tackles. But he also had some struggles too,
Of course, improved offensive line play should make Jeanty’s job much easier as well. The Raiders’ offensive line was a major issue last year and the team hopes expensive free-agent addition center Tyler Linderbaum, better health and better coaching should all help Jeanty.
He certainly has a chance to be an impact player. It will be fun to revisit this topic next summer.
