For the third consecutive offseason, Indiana football is loading up in the backfield.
Turbo Richard, a sophomore running back formerly of Boston College, has committed to Indiana out of the transfer portal, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. He’s rated as a 3-star prospect in the portal and ranks as the 19th highest-rated running back and 150th highest-rated prospect overall, according to On3/Rivals. He attended Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Richard spent the past two seasons
with the Eagles, playing in eight games as a true freshman in 2024 with 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He started all 11 games he played in as a sophomore in 2025, rushing for 749 yards with nine touchdowns and catching 30 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
He’ll give the Hoosiers an option on and ground and through the air with his abilities as a receiver, something Indiana hasn’t had much of under Curt Cignetti. He figures to be a strong contributor to next season’s offense.
