Alongside outside linebacker Greg Rousseau, defensive tackle Deone Walker has been one of the most disruptive defensive forces through the first two weeks of the season for the Buffalo Bills, amassing one sack to go with nine quarterback pressures, four tackles and three batted down passes as the Bills have raced off to a 2-0 start.
In victories against the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions, there have been plenty of plays where Walker has been nearly unblockable, having a tremendous impact on a play even
if he isn’t the one to get the sack or make the tackle.

It’s been an encouraging start to the 2026 campaign for Walker, a fourth-round pick by the Bills in the 2025 NFL Draft who showed flashes of his immense talent and potential during his rookie season. But after two outstanding performances, today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by dissecting Walker’s dominant start to the season.

DT Deone Walker has become a disruptor
Anyone who has watched a Bills game has noticed that Greg Rousseau and Deone Walker have led the way in creating disruptive plays through the first two weeks of the season. Walker’s rise to dominance has been impressive to see, as he followed up a successful rookie season that saw him generate 13 pressures on 214 pass rush snaps (a pressure rate of 8%) by generating seven pressures in just 53 pass rush snaps so far this year (good for a pressure rate of 17.9%).
Walker has been a dominant, disruptive force in the middle of Jim Leonhard’s defense, and his stellar play has Walker positioned to become a rising star for the Bills.
“I think the scheme fits him,” head coach Joe Brady said Walker. “He made a jump from year one to year two, but we’ve only played two games right now. The consistency, I want to be able to see that game in and game out, and him being able to keep that competitive stamina. He has a style of play that fits exactly what we’re looking for, so it’s important for him to just continue finding ways to get better. We’re putting stuff on tape now and teams are obviously going to have to prepare for him and him being able to adjust and kind of handle that, but I’ve been pleased with his progress thus far.”
Walker is looking to build upon a rookie season that saw him land on the NFL’s All-Rookie Team after making 39 tackles to go with 16 pressures, one sack, four batted down passes and a fumble recovery.
