The Allianz Arena had a rough 2025/26 season and a tougher summer.
After a rigorous football season, the stadium hosted several concerts this summer, which put a beating on the arena’s grass surface. After the concert series ended, the grass was stripped out and the club was setting things up for a new turf installation:
Now, the work
is underway and Bayern Munich should have the surface ready to go for the Telekom Cup in two weeks vs. RB Leipzig. The Telekom Cup is being played as part of the deal that Bayern Munich used to secure acquiring Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig in 2021:
This surface should last until mid-November when the NFL comes to town, which will almost assuredly result in another full replacement. There is also the possibility that a new surface is installed prior to the NFL game as well.
The NFL’s New England Patriots and Detroit Lions will play at the Allianz Arena on Sunday, November 15th at 9:30 AM EST.
