The Tennessee Volunteers and Kentucky Wildcats will renew their annual rivalry next Saturday in Lexington, Kentucky. And yes, for those wondering what time the game is, well, you not-so-late-nighters had
better get another pot of coffee going that evening, because it’s going to be a late one.
Tennessee announced the kickoff time on Monday, and it will get underway at 7:45 pm ET on the SEC Network.
That’s the second straight week that the Vols will be under the lights, as Tennessee and Alabama are set to face off this Saturday at 7:30 pm ET in Tuscaloosa. I am definitely a fan of Tennessee playing in games that kick off when the sun is still up, so this is a bit of an unfortunate stretch.
Kentucky comes into this week at 2-3 and 0-3 in the SEC. They lost a close battle with Ole Miss in a game they led for a good chunk of, but they were on the wrong end of lopsided matchups against South Carolina and Georgia. They Wildcats have a big opportunity over the next few weeks to give Mark Stoops a win he could really use. They host Texas this weekend before hosting Tennessee the next week. After a trip to Auburn, they host Florida the following week.
Tennessee and Kentucky will meet for the 121st time next Saturday. Tennessee leads the series 85-26-9.
