It’s
really, really hard to think about spring as everyone in the tri-state area continues to dig out from massive amounts of snow, but the Phillies equipment trucks will be setting out for Clearwater on Tuesday. Soon enough we’ll have some real news to share and discuss rather than whatever passes for news in this dead zone.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- FanGraphs has published their rankings of the Phillies farm system, and they are slightly more optimistic than most.
- Justin Crawford, one of the stars of that farm system, seems to be as MLB-ready as he can get.
- The automated ball-strike system is officially coming to MLB this year, and here’s how the Phillies are planning to adapt to it.
MLB News:
- The Astros’ Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa will not be participating in the World Baseball Classic due to not being able to receive insurance on their contracts for the exhibition tournament.
- The Rockies made a pair of trades yesterday, sending reliever Angel Chivilli to the Yankees and acquiring infielder Edouard Julien and reliever Pierson Ohl in a deal with the Twins.
- Even more prospect rankings, this time with the players who just missed Keith Law’s Top 100. ($)
