Hasan Salihamidžić, given the nickname “Brazzo”, first joined Bayern Munich in 1998, joining Germany’s biggest club from Hamburger SV. He won many titles, including the Champions League in 2001, in Bavarian red before moving on to Juventus FC in 2007. The Bosnian re-joined Bayern as a sporting director in the late 2010s and stayed for multiple years before his eventual dismissal, even winning the Champions League again in 2020.
Now Brazzo is just a fan as he witnesses Bayern’s latest charge to win
Europe’s biggest competition as the club aims to overturn a 5-4 deficit from the first leg of the Champions League semifinals against Paris Saint Germain. The rematch will happen in the Allianz Arena and Brazzo is confident he knows who the ultimate victor will be.
“With the twelfth man in the stands and the Allianz Arena as a fortress, we have a clear home advantage, and I firmly believe that FC Bayern will advance,” he stated, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “Our players are in top form; they are winning and even turning around almost lost matches. They shouldn’t put themselves under pressure against PSG, they don’t need to be leading 3-0 at halftime – we’ll do it with our strength in the final stages.”
Clearly, Salihamidžić still identifies heavily with the Bavarians despite his dismissal.
