Nikki Bella said in a new video that she doesn’t want to continue her current run in WWE without her sister, Brie Bella.
During night one of SummerSlam (August 1), Brie was seen favoring her right arm throughout much of a trios match with Nikki and Paige against Fatal Influence.
Later that night, WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque confirmed Brie was hurt when speaking during SummerSlam’s Post Show, saying she was at the hospital for scans. While he didn’t have any concrete information
on the severity of the injury at the time, he did say it “seems pretty bad.”
On Monday (August 3), Brie revealed she had sustained a broken shoulder blade (scapula), which could potentially keep her out of the ring for months. Meanwhile, Nikki has only just returned after being out with an ankle injury.
The twins followed up the news with a video posted on their shared YouTube channel on Wednesday. In the clip, Brie said she’s still waiting to find out if she’ll need surgery, while Nikki sounded reluctant to go on another singles run.
“I don’t want to do it alone. A part of me feels like I need to stay back with you and just wait for us to come back in together,” Nikki said. “It’s already been a one and a one. I don’t want to do this again without you.”
Brie responded by joking: “Then don’t. Now hold my hair.”
Elsewhere in the talk, which was filmed with Nikki next to Brie in bed, the sisters revealed that officials considered stopping the match at SummerSlam due to the severity of Brie’s injury.
“When you broke your ankle, you continued the match, and then I broke my shoulder,” Brie said. “It’s so funny because you and I, I don’t know if it’s because we’re people pleasers, but the whole time in my head, I’m like, ‘No, I’ve got to stay in so Nikki can get the hot tag.’
“They were telling me, ‘Stay down,’ or they were thinking about calling the match. And I’m like, ‘No, no, no.’ Even though I was in crazy pain, all I could think about was, ‘Nikki’s got to hit that comeback.’”
