Despite the Los Angeles Rams losing two of their first three games, almost half of the fan base still expects the Rams to win at least 10 games. In this week’s SB Nation Rams reacts poll question asking “How many wins do you expect the Rams to get over the last 14 games”, 53% of fans predicted “10 or 11” and another 6% voted “12 or more”.
The Rams are 1-2, so that would leave the team somewhere between 11-6 and 15-2 by the end of the season.
The low end of that projection would come in under what many
expected would happen before L.A. started 1-2, when the Rams were still favored to win the NFC West with at least 13 wins. The Rams are 3.5-point favorites against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, according to FanDuel. Before the season, FanDuel had the Rams at 12-5.
So a win this week would help get the Rams closer to that 12-5 record, at least. And reinforcements are on the way. If Myles Garrett returns sooner than later, if Puka Nacua stays healthy, then it’s possible the Rams wind up stronger in the second half of their season than the first, as is often the case.
What is telling is that fans still believe this team can have a strong 2026 season. The hope is there; will the Rams deliver? Good question.
Are you confident in the direction of the Rams?
Fans may still expect a strong 2026, however in terms of the direction of the franchise, there’s a fair amount of concern.
As mentioned above Garrett has been hurt, Nacua hasn’t suited up and the Rams have not been the powerhouse in 2026 that many expected, and the fans level of concern reflects that.
Of course, if the Rams rattle off a few wins, then perhaps the confidence meter will shift, but as it stands, fans are worried and that’s fair given that this team went from Super Bowl favorite to questioning whether or not they can win their own division.
Through 3 weeks, the San Francisco 49ers look like perhaps the best team in the NFC, not the Rams.
Do the Rams even have a backup quarterback they could trade?
When it comes to the backup quarterback position for the Rams, they potentially have their QB of the future with Ty Simpson, however could Stetson Bennett be moved? Not likely, but you never know and as quarterback injuries pile up, a team may be desperate enough to send a late pick for Simpson.
A majority of fans surveyed seem to think that a backup quarterback is worth a Day 3 pick, and if Bennett were to be moved, it’s hard to see him going for anything more than a seventh rounder.
Odds are Bennett isn’t moved given the amount of other backup signal callers potentially available. Still, teams and their backup positions, especially at quarterback, are something to monitor.
Which rocky start through three weeks is the most troubling?
If the Los Angeles Chargers weren’t such a massive disappointment, then the Rams would be getting more ire. Then again when you see teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Houston Texans starting 0-3, then perhaps the Rams aren’t in as much trouble as it seems.
That being said, the Rams don’t need to worry about other franchise’s records, for now, but they do need to worry about getting back in the win column ASAP.
For teams like the Chargers, Bucs and Texans, they are looking to get into the win column at all.
In the world of the NFL, things don’t always get better, but they can always get worse. The Rams will try to avoid some of the negative storylines that other struggling teams are getting.
