The TV ratings and viewership data are in for the Jan. 9, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown on the USA Network.
Per Programming Insider, SmackDown was watched by 990,000 total viewers and did a .26 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. The show aired on a delay in the United States after streaming live for most of the world a few hours earlier. It also featured a HUGE title change, which can oftentimes draw interest to a pre-taped episode of pro wrestling. That didn’t seem to be the case here though,
as the numbers were down from the previous week’s loaded return to three-hours: 16% in overall audience, and 7% in the demo.
SmackDown finished second among all original cable programming on the night, behind Indiana’s blowout of Oregon in the College Football Playoff semi-finals. That led the way on all television with a a 2.17 rating from 17.2 million total viewers.
Same situation with a show from London. We doubt they can top Drew McIntyre winning the WWE title, but they don’t have to go against a playoff football games this Friday either. We’ll find out how it does, then update our list of SmackDown results from the past year:
