LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers open their 2026 postseason run on a sweltering Saturday afternoon, hosting the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series at Dodger Stadium.
Tarik Skubal will start for the Dodgers in Game 1, the team’s prized trade-deadline acquisition set to make his seventh career postseason start. Amazingly, all six of his playoff starts with the Detroit Tigers were on the road, and he did quite well, with a 2.04 ERA and 56 strikeouts against only six walks in 39
2/3 innings.
“Usually when I walk out onto the field in a playoff game, it’s usually received with a lot of boos. So I’m excited to get some cheers in there for us,” Skubal said Friday. “And to pitch at home, I think it’s going to be a ton of fun in front of this atmosphere.”
The Braves haven’t yet named a starting pitcher and will likely go with a bullpen game on Saturday.
Keith Williams Jr. will sing the national anthem before Game 1 and former Dodgers (and Braves!) first baseman Adrián González will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
