The Buckeyes are on a recruiting stretch right now that is second to none. An absolute heater from this coaching staff and program, Ohio State is seeing a ton of positives to both their current 2026 class
and 2027 class as well.
Plenty of good vibes on social media coming Thursday, this stretch doesn’t look like it has an end in sight, and this weekend could pose as not only one commitment, but as On3’s Hayes Fawcett hinted, the Buckeyes could soon land two more pledges to their classes.
With a prime-time contest tomorrow night, one of the key visitors that is making his way to campus is 2027 defensive back target, Eli Johnson. A 6-foot-3, 200 pound safety, Eli is the No. 114 player nationally and tenth best safety in the class per the 247Sports Composite.
Holding nearly 30 offers to his name and from every top school in the country, the Buckeyes getting Johnson on campus this weekend is a major win and one that has really gained some traction this week.
Easily the most exciting aspect to his visit this weekend on Thursday multiple Crystal Ball predictions in favor of Ohio State rolled in, and it wouldn’t at this point be a major surprise to see him be one of the hinted players to commit.
A four-star talent with the length, range, and athleticism to be a major problem for offenses on the back end, the Buckeyes are hoping to seal this one up this weekend, and all signs right now point to Ohio State doing just that.
Ohio State makes the cut for 2027 offensive line prospect
Another day, another top schools list the Buckeyes find their name on, which now is expected thanks to all of the momentum this staff has.
Coming by way of 2027 prospect, Reed Ramsier, the Florida native has his list of schools narrowed down to just five. The No. 354 player nationally and 18th best interior lineman in the class per the 247Sports Composite, cutting down to just five options after 20-plus offers shows the decision is getting that much closer for the four-star target.
A 6-foot-5, 305 pound athlete, Ramsier has Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Texas, and Ohio State still under consideration and it won’t be an easy fight for any of the five, but with how the Buckeyes have been lately, Tyler Bowen has as good of a shot as anyone else.
From here, Ohio State will look to get him back on campus, but with how many offers they have out to top players up front, they’ll be in good standing for several.
Four-star edge rusher still considering Ohio State with latest update
More of the same, next on the list to keep Ohio State on their top schools list is four-star edge rusher, Rashad Streets. A 6-foot-4, 230 pound athlete, the North Carolina native is the No. 65 player nationally and the eighth best at his position for the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite.
Nearly 40 offers to his name once again from every major school in the country, Streets is now down to just 12 schools he is keeping in mind, and the Buckeyes are happy to be one of them considering the profile of athlete he is.
Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, NC State, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas rounding out the remaining finalists, the Buckeyes once again will have to battle some stiff competition, but they’re always up for the challenge.
Like the offensive line, the Buckeyes have made it a priority to expand their amount of offers to the edge rusher position, and with that they should increase their efforts of landing the players they want most. That very well could include Streets.
Quick Hits:
Another big time guest on campus this weekend, Ohio State will welcome 2028 athlete, Jermaine Smith Jr. for the UCLA night game. The No. 99 player nationally and ninth best athlete per the 247Sports Composite, the Buckeyes have not yet offered Jermaine, and could use this as a chance to do so.
