Dear Roker Report,
I cannot believe how many people believe the rubbish that Fabrizio Romano comes out with. Do people not know that he’s more of an influencer than a journalist? He makes a story up and lets others run with it as though it were true. That is how he makes his money — and he’s pretty good at what he does.
He’s the Italian version of Alan Nixon, and I don’t believe one word that comes out of his mouth. Would these idiots believe him if he said the Earth was flat? Or that the Moon was made of green cheese?
Our club is now run professionally, and players will only leave on Sunderland’s terms. Shame on the idiots slagging off Granit Xhaka over a false story put out by someone who makes a living out of causing trouble.

Ed’s Note [Phil]: Hi, Gerald. Thank you for your letter.
Whilst I fully understand the anger and frustration being directed towards media figures like Fabrizio Romano, it’s important to remember that people like him were also delivering good news when it came to Sunderland’s transfer business during the summer of 2025 — and I’m pretty sure that’ll be the case again this time around.
At the end of the day, clicks equal cash in the modern world of football-related social media. Romano and others have taken advantage of that, and it’s just something that’s integral to the game nowadays — often for the worse, admittedly.

Dear Roker Report,
After Wilson Isidor’s unreal goal for Haiti, I overheard one of the lads singing, “Eezer good, eezer good, dun du du du du du”, and I said, “Narrrr — it’s ISIDOR, ISIDOR, DUN DU DU DU DU!” On the spot, I made up that chant, and it carried on all the way through the bar for the rest of the night.
That was a week ago and, since then, I keep getting messages saying it’s stuck in the lads’ heads.
I’m thinking this is a chant for the new season. Make it happen, lads!
‘Til the End!

Ed’s Note [Phil]: Hi, Toni. Thank you for getting in touch.
In order to get that new chant into circulation, we’d need Wilson Isidor to remain a Sunderland player for 2026/2027, and I really hope that’s the case — particularly with Eliezer Mayenda having been sold to Rennes.
I’m a huge fan of Isidor and I do believe he has a real affinity for the club, so let’s hope we can enjoy watching him in red and white for another season…possibly with a new chant to accompany it!
