Russell Wilson turned out an absolute career game in Week 2, putting up an insane 450 yards, many of them going to Malik Nabers.
That is the only thing keeping Jaxon Smith-Njigba from being the NFL’s receiving leader through two weeks.
With 103 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and 124 in Week one, your very own JSN is the number two most prolific receiver at this point in the season.
How does that sound!

Smith-Njigba was fourth last week; now moves up to second. What makes his consecutive presence in the top five even sweeter is that the Seahawks managed to win themselves the football game. Even better, Sam Darnold was able to spread the ball around far more against the Steelers. In addition to JSN’s impressive 103 yards, Cooper Kupp was close behind with 90 of his own. This is phenomenal for Seattle moving forward – we all saw the results of the JSN-or-bust approach in the season opener.
Coming up next, things get extra juicy for Smith-Njigba and the ‘Hawks.
Seattle’s next two games are against the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals. The Saints haven’t given up a ton of points, but they aren’t good at much of anything. Offense should move. That Thursday, however, Arizona might field a team without their top five cornerbacks.
You read that right. The Cardinals lost three against the Carolina Panthers. Max Melton, Garret Williams and rookie Will Johnson all left the field with assistance. Melton was carted off.
JSN, Kupp and Tory Horton against fourth, fifth, or even sixth options at corner? Yes please.
In short, there’s a very legitimate chance that after a quarter of the season is past, we’re still talking about Jaxon Smith-Njigba as one of the five most prolific receivers in the NFL.
Big year loading for the year three first-rounder.
