We are just about a quarter of the way through the 2026 NFL season already, and while the Eagles seemed to avoid injury issues in the first two weeks, they’ve really stacked up in their last two games.
Heading into the Week 4 matchup against the Rams, the Eagles had six players inactive due to injury:
- DeVonta Smith
- Dallas Goedert
- Hollywood Brown
- Fred Johnson
- Zack Baun
- Marcus Epps
And then, things spiraled completely out of control during the Rams game, with Saquon Barkley suffering a hamstring injury early in the first quarter:
- Saquon Barkley (hamstring – ruled out)
- Quinyon Mitchell (knee – never returned)
- Jonathan Greenard (ankle – ruled out)
- Tank Bigsby
A few guys were also evaluated in the medical tent
before ultimately being cleared to return:
- Drew Kendall
- Cooper DeJean
It wasn’t due to injury, but Lane Johnson was inactive for Sunday’s game too due to personal reasons, so his status moving forward is also questionable.
All-in-all, the Eagles will have a lot of questions to answer as far as the roster goes moving forward, and hopefully some of these starters will be able to return soon.
