Michael Olise has capped off two incredible seasons at Bayern Munich. The Frenchman has been an instant hit since arriving from Crystal Palace, and while his Bayern exploits — and perhaps his upcoming World Cup — should garner him a lot of attention, the Bavarians are making clear that he is not for sale.
“We absolutely want to keep him,” Bayern president Herbert Hainer stated in comments captured by Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia). “He has a contract until 2029. Michael has developed superbly because
he was given the chance to prove himself in a top international team. We have a strike force that can hold its own on the world stage. There aren’t many clubs with such a strong attack. That benefits Michael. Furthermore, he has the chance to win every title with us every year. I see no reason why he should look elsewhere.”
Sure, there might be a little bit of convincing the player in that statement, but Hainer is not wrong. Olise has been as good for Bayern as Bayern has been for him — and as this season has shown, there are few comparable platforms available for challenging for the Champions League year in and year out. Is that enough to keep the 24-year-old from dreaming of a new adventure? Bayern fans will certainly hope so.
