Bayern Munich star Luis Díaz is enjoying a productive first campaign in Germany — but he is giving all the credit to those around him.
“The team is making it very easy for me on the pitch. We have a lot
of great players, especially up front, who don’t just think about scoring goals themselves, but also help their teammates,” Díaz said in comments to German outlet Sport Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “That gives me a lot of security and confidence. It’s incredible to play attacks with them. They have so much quality. I’m really, really happy and feel even better and more comfortable.”
That’s pretty high praise for his Bayern teammates coming from Díaz, given that the Colombian international enjoyed a Premier League title last season as part of Arne Slot’s star-studded cast.
Liverpool’s somewhat sputtering start to this campaign also highlights how it is no guarantee that an ensemble cast of top-quality players turns into a free-flowing and productive attack. Credit all the way down from Bayern’s players to sporting department for identifying Díaz and integrating him into the side so quickly and effectively.
