Over the weekend, X’s @PerchedTopRope started to spread the word that a man who’d travelled from the United Kingdom to Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42 was missing. Marc Izard was last seen leaving SmackDown at T-Mobile Arena on Fri. April 17, and the last known photo of him was taken at a meet-and-greet with Natalya the day before.
That was last Saturday. Today (Tues., April 28), the Las Vegas Review Journal reports that Izard’s body had been found. The Clark County corner’s office confirmed that Izard,
43, died on April 18 at 1731 S. Las Vegas Boulevard.
Natalya, who had amplified the news Izard was missing along with a request for information over the weekend, shared a remembrance of someone she only met briefly but may remember forever:
Hearing about the passing of someone from our wrestling family, Marc Izard, is heartbreaking. Wrestling brings people together in such a special way, and moments like this remind us how precious life truly is. My thoughts are with Marc’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him.
@PerchedTopRope shared a Facebook post from Izard’s sister Kelly today. It says Marc “passed away quickly from natural causes related to his underlying medical conditions”, and that while Kelly and the rest of his family is understandably devastated, “we are at some comfort knowing he passed doing what he loved so much.”
On behalf of all of wrestling fans in the Cageside Seats community, our thoughts are with the Izards. May Marc rest in peace.
