Kansas Jayhawks News
The KC Star looks at two issues that have been present even going into last year for the Jayhawks.
At several points this season, Kansas coach Lance Leipold has harped on two issues that have hampered his team’s offense. Those issues? KU’s struggles in the red zone — and on third down.
Michael Swain at 247sports goes through his 3 things he knows and 3 things he thinks about the Jayhawks. Leading the way is the recognition that Saturday’s a huge game.
This week is going to be a big test for KU on several
fronts. How do the Jayhawks bounce back after a game in which they led in the final two minutes but ended up losing? How does KU deal with a night game at UCF, which has one of the better home environments in the conference?
Don’t hold your breath on this one but losing to Cincinatti on Saturday had a profound impact on KU’s chances of winning the Big 12.
However, KU’s Big 12 title odds took a sharp downturn following their disappointing 37-34 home loss to the Bearcats. KU now sits at +3300 to win the conference, which is 10th best among all Big 12 teams.
Here’s Matt Tait writing at Row 1 Seat 1 (new to me site, anyone else?):
When teams win, all is well in the eyes of most who sit in the stands and cheer them on. When teams lose, it’s we suck, fire everybody!
SI takes a very wide angle and broad look at KU’s struggles in close games. This is so much more fun than being mad at Turner Gill or David Beaty.
Bill Self may be adding another top recruit to next year’s class as Texan Davion Adkins, a top 50 recruit out of Texas but currently with the same program Darryn Peterson was with last season.
“There might not have been a bigger presence at the front of the rim than Davion Adkins,” Shaw wrote. “The 6-foot-8 post player is a supreme rim protector, not only showing quick explosive burst, but also excellent timing.”
Kansas Volleyball sweeps Arizona at home.
Kansas Volleyball won at home in a sweep over Arizona on Sunday afternoon, moving the Jayhawks’ record to 10-6 and their conference record back level at 1-1.
