Newcastle United hits the road for the first time in the new Premier League season on Saturday, traveling to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Matthias Jaissle’s side enters the game after drawing 2-2 with Liverpool in its league opener and beating West Brom 3-2 in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, while Spurs will be looking to respond after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Brentford in their first league game and winning their EFL Cup matchup against Charlton 5-1 on Wednesday.
Newcastle could hand new signing
Nico Gonzalez his Premier League debut after the midfielder completed his £50 million move from Man City earlier this week, while Jaissle is expected to bring back most, if not all, of the usual starters who were rested in the cup.
The Magpies have enjoyed plenty of success in this matchup recently, winning six of their last eight Premier League meetings with Tottenham and each of their last two visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
